Web browsers are software applications that provide a way for people to view text, video, audio, movies and other types of information on the Internet. Web browsers initially were designed for academic use but the development and advances in technology have allowed Web browsers to cross over to commercial use. With the cross over, Web browsers helped to catapult the Internet to its current status today.
